Welcome

Thank you for visiting the Ivy Vine Charities, Incorporated (IVC) website.  IVC, a 501(c)(3) organization was established in 1994 by members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Theta Omega Omega Chapter.  IVC’s mission is to provide community grants, community service activities, and scholarships in the Montgomery County, Maryland community.  Ivy Vine Charities would not be successful without the countless hours, support, and resources from our community and membership.

In support of the IVC mission, fundraising efforts support scholarships and book awards for students in Montgomery County and the surrounding areas.  During its Awards Program in May 2023, more than $35,000 was awarded to local students to attend traditional HBCUs, colleges, and universities in Maryland and other institutions of higher learning across the country.

Over the past few years, IVC continued to address the impact of the pandemic by identifying new ways to raise critical funds that would continue to help advance its mission. Monetary donations from our “Season of Giving” and “Giving Tuesday” campaigns have become effective ways to allow ‘Charities” to continue to provide support to young people, as education continues to be a key ingredient for students’ future success. To date, more than $125,000 has been donated, allowing Ivy Vine Charities, Inc. to continue to make a positive difference in the lives of our students and the communities we serve. In July 2023, Ivy Vine Charities hosted its 15th Annual Benefit Golf Tournament, attended by more than 150 golfers, observers, and individuals who received golf lessons.  In December of 2023 Ivy Vine Charities was also able to return one of its signature events, “Father Daughter Dinner Dance” since the pandemic.

For additional information on how to become an event sponsor, event volunteer or community partner contact the IVC Board of Directors at info@ivyvinecharities.org.
