Director Pauline G. Johnson, Esq. |
|
Ms. Johnson joined the IVC Board in 2009, and was appointed as Senior Vice President in 2010. She was one of the organizers and incorporators of the IVC (then named Theta Omega Omega Charities) and served as its first Senior Vice President. Ms. Johnson retired from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in 2002. Her last assignment before retirement was as Director of the Legal Office of the Regional Economic Development Services Office (REDSO) in Nairobi, Kenya. During her time at USAID, Ms. Johnson served in the General Counsel’s Office for both the Africa Section and the Latin American Section. She also served as Director and Deputy Director of the Office of Equal Opportunity Programs. Before employment with USAID, Ms. Johnson was an Attorney with the Atlantic Richfield Company, in its Los Angeles and Washington, DC offices. Ms. Johnson received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from the California State University, Los Angeles, and her Juris Doctor Degree from UCLA School of Law in Los Angeles, California. She is a member of the California and District of Columbia Bars. She resides in Montgomery County, Maryland. |

Director Beverly Brooks Anderson |

| Mrs. Anderson has had a varied professional life. While living at posts abroad with her husband, a Department of State Foreign Service Officer, Mrs. Anderson held several positions at American Embassies. In Cairo, Egypt, she was General Manager of the American Employees Association. The outcome of her extensive travel and experiences include published articles on interior design, participation in decorator showhouses, and the founding of "Always Something New," an accessories and style consultation enterprise. Mrs. Anderson retired from the DC Public Schools where she served as a Speech/Language Pathologist. She contributes her time and energies to various organizations that serve the community. She has received numerous awards and recognitions which include those from the U.S. Department of State, the D.C. Public Schools, and the Montgomery County (Md.) Executive. Mrs. Anderson, a graduate of Howard University, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and a Masters of Arts degree in Special Education. Mrs. Anderson has two grown sons and resides in Montgomery County, Maryland. |

Director Frances G. Brock |
|
Mrs. Brock is a retired educator with 32 years of service (1963-1994) in the Washington, D.C. Public School System where she was a science teacher, Instructional Supervisor for Science, and Supervising Director of Science. From 2000—2008, Mrs. Brock was an Adjunct Professor at Bowie State University, where she taught Science Methods and Social Studies Methods to undergraduate students. She also supervised teachers in the Master of Arts in Teaching Degree Program, and mentored new teachers in the Maryland Alternative Route to Certification Options (MARCO) Program. Mrs. Brock received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the District of Columbia Teachers College, and her Master of Science Degree from American University, Washington, D.C. She resides in Montgomery County, Maryland. |

| Ms Smith is the President and founder of MSS Concierge of Maryland, LLC Personal Assistant Services. Ms. Smith was appointed by Governor Martin O'Malley to the Board of Trustees of Montgomery College effective July 1, 2009 for the remainder of a term of six years from July 1, 2004. Ms. Smith was with the National Education Association from 1992-2008, where she served on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee and worked with members around the country focusing on quality teaching and learning in public education. Ms. Smith also worked for more than 30 years as a team leader resource teacher and assistant athletic director in Montgomery County Public Schools. She has a bachelor's degree in education from Tuskegee University and an Advanced Professional Certificate in education from the State of Maryland. Ms. Smith became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Theta Omega Omega Chapter in 1988. She currently serves as Financial Secretary of Ivy Vine Charities. Ms. Smith resides in Olney, Maryland with her husband, Reynauld and other family members. | ||

Director Virginia Boateng |

Since her membership on the board, Ms. Boateng has held the positions of Buildings and Properties committee chair, Parliamentarian and 2010 Debutante Cotillion co-chair. Ms. Boateng is currently a Senior Budget Analyst with the U. S. Department of Education in the Office of the Secretary. Previously she worked in various financial positions with the Smithsonian Institution, Peace Corps, U.S. Department of Agriculture and U.S. Agency for International Development in Washington, D.C. and Ghana, West Africa. Ms. Boateng is a life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. As a member of Theta Omega Omega chapter, she has held the offices of Treasurer and Recording Secretary. Ms. Boateng currently resides in Prince Georges County, Maryland. |

Director Valerie D. Evans-Harrell |

| Director Valerie D. Evans-Harrell was one of the incorporators of Ivy Vine Charities, Inc., formerly Theta Omega Omega Charities, Inc. She has served on the Board of Directors, holding various offices, since Charities’ incorporation in 1994. Currently, she is an ex officio member representing Theta Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated in her capacity as the Chapter’s President. Director Evans-Harrell is a licensed practicing attorney with the U.S. Department of Labor, Employees’ Compensation Appeals Board. She has served as an Attorney-Advisor, Alternate Judge appointed by Former Secretary of Labor Alexis Herman, and is now serving as a Division Chief-Supervisory Attorney. In 2009 she was recognized by her agency for 30 years of service in the Federal Government. Director Evans-Harrell also serves as the Recording Secretary for the Resident Community Advisory Board which oversees operations at the Washington Center for Aging Services in Northeast, Washington District of Columbia and as the Co-Chairman of the Community Outreach Committee of an affiliate of the National Bar Association -- The Greater Washington Area, Women Lawyers Division (GWAC) and is a member of its Executive Board. She is a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Washington DC where she serves on the Finance Committee. | ||

Director Geraldine Jackson |

| She was a Museum Operations for 12 years of her career. She has received certifications in multiple technologies, including programming languages, graphical applications, software packages, server configurations/ installations, Section 508 and technical writing and documentation. She was initially assigned under the Commissioner of Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE) under Administration of Children and Families (ACF) for Health and Human Services (HHS) managing two intranet sites and one internet site. Afterward, she served under the Director of Nuclear Regulations for Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and the National Institute of Health (NIH) managing and coordinating public relations documentation and other visual communications portals, such as federal intranet and extranets. After leaving National Institute Health (NIH), she went to the Department of Defense (2005-present). Currently, she stationed at the Pentagon supporting for the Secretary of Defense in the Public Affairs Office in regards to communications and internal operations. | ||
